Meet Nicole
My name is Nicole Joan Grabowski. I am the founder of Nicole Joan Consulting LLC, which provides grant writing and consulting services to nonprofit organizations. With 15 years of experience working in nonprofits and ten years of writing grants, I am thrilled to share my expertise with others!
My professional background has taken me far as I have travelled the country and worked at different nonprofits over the years. From teaching outdoor education in Texas, to performing habitat restoration in Seattle, leading outdoor adventure trips for at-risk youth in Colorado, and coordinating community garden programs in Michigan. I love working with people, being outdoors, and supporting organizations that are making our world a better place!
I hold a BA in Environmental Policy from Michigan State University and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Grand Valley State University. My nonprofit work experience includes planning, coordinating, and leading programs, participant and volunteer recruitment/enrollment and database management, volunteer management, event planning, curriculum development, fiscal management, fundraising, and more! I have worked with people of all different backgrounds and most often have worked with nonprofits that serve vulnerable communities (i.e. low income, homeless, BIPOC communities, at-risk youth, those facing issues related to substance abuse, mental illness, mental/physical disabilities, etc.). Serving in various capacities at several nonprofits in a variety of communities has given me key insight and a deeper understanding of how to best support organizations, and their staff, through grants and the grant process.
I have a passion for working with nonprofits that are focused on improving the quality of life for those in their community, whether it’s through access to educational opportunities, promoting community engagement through events or programs (like community gardens!), or providing connection to critical resources such as mental healthcare or housing. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to have access to resources that can help them find success in life! I enjoy helping organizations reach these goals and advance their mission. I look forward to working with your organization and, together, we can make our world a better place, one community at a time.
